"Prior to starting my college application journey I knew little to nothing. I had just 2 months until my first application deadline and I hadn’t even begun to think even about where I wanted to go. We first heard about Jen from a friend and she was nothing less than amazing. She helped me with everything I needed for college. MEET JENNIFER JAMISON

Your College Consultant

I am a seasoned teaching professional with over 30 years of experience with K-12 students in Atlantic City, New Jersey. I am an active member of the Independent Education Consultants Association, the National Association of College Admissions Counselors, and the NJ Association of College Admissions Counselors, attending conferences for continuing education and college tours, engaging in virtual college webinars and tours, and conferring daily with professional colleagues.

I graduated from Susquehanna University and received a Masters of Library Science from Rowan University. I implemented my vision in program and library curricula building and earned national, local, and state honors. My adept talent at establishing strong libraries earned the National School Library Program of the Year by the American Library Association, and I was recognized as one of the top ten librarians in the country for the New York Times/Carnegie National Librarian of the Year award.

I guide students on their high school pathway, including course selection, extracurricular and summer activities, and standardized tests. As students become rising seniors, I minimize stress by helping students complete tasks, manage a schedule, meet college and financial deadlines, and craft standout applications, and I communicate with parents throughout the process.

What does a college consultant do that a school counselor may not have time to do?

College consultants and school counselors play complementary roles. As a private consultant, I can give your family more individualized time for college research, list building, application strategy, essays, and your questions, while school counselors continue to support students within the school setting.

When should we start working with a college consultant?

Families can benefit from support at different stages, but many begin during sophomore or junior year when college planning starts to become more focused. Starting earlier gives you more time for thoughtful decisions, but students who begin later can still get valuable guidance with college lists, applications, essays, and final decisions.

Do you work with students outside of New Jersey?

Yes. I work virtually with students and families nationwide, and I also offer in-person support for local New Jersey families. The process works well whether we meet online or in person.

How does pricing work?

I work with families on an annual plan that runs June through May, matched to your child's grade. Each plan spells out what's included, and you can see current prices on the Services page. Payment options are check, cash, Zelle, or Venmo.
